Hi! I'm Morgan Stephens, CSW

"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." – James Baldwin

I try to live by these words, embracing both challenges and simple joys. I love spending time outdoors—whether kayaking, walking, or just soaking up the sunshine. Reading is one of my favorite ways to unwind, and I’m usually in the middle of a good book (or two). Most importantly, I treasure time with my family and my two cats, who bring both comfort and personality to my everyday life. - Morgan

Morgan's Purpose Statement: Unveiling His "Why" as a Therapist

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be part of a helping profession, I just didn’t know exactly what that would look like. For much of my life, I felt labeled as “too emotional” or “too sensitive.” For a long time, I believed those traits were weaknesses. But over time, I’ve come to see my sensitivity as a strength. My ability to feel deeply and connect with others allows me to hold space for people during their most difficult moments. It’s what makes me the kind of therapist I am—empathetic, open, and compassionate. What drew me to this work is the opportunity to offer support, healing, and connection to others. -Morgan Stephens, CSW

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at my Experience as a Therapist

Before each session, I try to take a few minutes to center myself so I can be fully present to whoever I am meeting with. Whether it be deep breathing or reviewing my notes, this helps me be more attentive and responsive. After sessions, I make sure to decompress whether is is a walk outside or sitting with my cats. Self-care is extremely important. -Morgan Stephens, CSW

A Memorable Success Story

I once worked with a client who came to therapy feeling overwhelmed and their anxiety controlled their life. Over time, it became clear that patterns of people-pleasing and fear of conflict were at the root of their distress. Together we worked on building awareness through mindfulness and exploring the childhood beliefs that shaped how they related to themselves. Eventually, they began to notice these patterns and create space between their reactions and responses. Through this I learned that anxiety doesn't have to be the narrator of our lives. Change is always possible with support and consistent effort. -Morgan

Maintaining Balance: How I Prioritize Well-Being to Serve Clients, Myself, and My Family

Maintaining my own mental health is essential to showing up as my best self for my clients. I prioritize setting clear boundaries between work and personal time. Spending quality moments with my family and my two cats helps me recharge and stay grounded. One quote I often reflect on is, “You can’t pour from an empty cup,” reminding me that self-care isn’t selfish, but it’s necessary. -Morgan, CSW
